Interesting, what a genius. Guess there isn't a plate of rock supporting the water table. Just out of curiosity, ever tried to figure out the purpose of a TBM?

I've been thru that tunnel between Detroit and Canada. Under the Detroit river. Very weird but cool experience. All this tunneling, you'd think would sooner or later create an affect on the earth. I mean it would create a imbalance and you'd imagine the outcome wouldn't be a good one.
You cannot build an underground base on an island. The water table is just below the surface ..

DeleteJust a thought ! There are tunnels for motorists under the Detroit River to Windsor, Canada ! Anything can be done w good engineers.
